Anyone else been feeling kinda mehhhh, these days besides me?!?

You know - you feel good most of the time, grateful ALL of the time but ready to be done with this pandemic to get outside for some fun but NOT READY at the same time? 🤯

To be very specific, let's talk health, wellness and weight. As always these days, I will start with gratitude - words can’t express how appreciative I am to be in my right mind (as my Gramma used to say) and that I have not been seriously ill in the midst of a 16+ month global pandemic. Can I get an Amen to that? I am also very grateful that I have been able to work full-time from home in a peaceful and pleasant environment while staying connected to close family and friends - these are all huge blessings!

So that’s what I meant by good most of the time and grateful all of the time. However, in dealing with the emotional toll we all have experienced to some extent during this time of isolation, I often feel restless, tired, unfocused and while busy, at times I still feel very unproductive. While I know that regular exercise and physical activity will help improve a lot of this, when it comes to fitness the past few years, I have been lazy and undisciplined! No need to sugar coat it...

I definitely want to get fit and I know that as a 51-year old woman, exercise (along with water, diet and retinol 😉) is truly the key to looking and feeling better. BUT when you stop, it’s hard to get back into it. Not to mention for the first time ever, I’ve lost over 30 lbs (and maintained it) without exercise. Last March I was at 166 lbs and within a month or two, I was at a low of 153 lbs and maintained it for a few months, without exercise. Well, that was 24 lbs ago because within the past 6-8 weeks, I experienced a 10 lbs increase (hello stress, anxiety and not enough sleep) and I'm not happy about that!😩

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although my clothes still fit, even if some jeans are slightly more snug around the belly (another sign of elevated stress), the lack of regular exercise, especially strength training, plus not drinking enough water every day is also a BIG factor in these changes with my weight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you ever get Tired of feeling TIRED because you aren't truly putting yourself first due to a lack of discipline and/or consistency - or is it just me?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While having a hot girl summer might be cute, I am much more interested in having a #HotMummaSumma! For me, this means stepping out of my comfort zone of chillaxin and into a serious, no-compromise commitment to improving my overall health so I will be in great physical shape, get quality sleep, improve focus, have better skin, manage the effects of stress plus look damn GOODT!

Anyone else ready to commit to some serious self-care so you come out of this pandemic looking and feeling 🔥?!?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My sister-friends and I have a personal accounbility circle we are starting but thought there may be others in this space also interested in being accountability partners to complete a community challenge. This would require committing to making a few small changes that will have a huge positive impact on our overall health. There will be absolutely no charge to participate in the challenge EXCEPT that you encourage and support yo ur sisters as we work towards optimum health, fitness and hotness!

Please comment or email me if you are interested in participating in our Hot Mumma Summa challenge in an effort to encourage daily self-care habits that improve our overall health and wellness - I will share the deets next week but for more engagement sooner, follow me on both of my instagram pages @epiphanybeauty and @beautybusinessbalance.

Yours in Love, Light & Lipstick,
